Leading Scandinavian Company presents preview of its new Editorial System PagePlanner 3: Step into the Future

05/04/2011

Oslo, 6. April 2011 - It has never been easier to produce magazines than with the new PagePlanner 3. The Norwegian company PagePlanner Solutions introduces the coming version 3 of the leading Scandinavian production system PagePlanner. And for the first-time, PagePlanner 3 will be available in the German, Austrian and Swiss markets.

PagePlanner Solutions AS introduces PagePlanner 3, which is developed with the latest technology from Microsoft and Adobe. It offers full flexibility and is platform independent (Mac, PC, Web). PagePlanner 3 can produce for all channels (print, web, pad, smart phone). In addition, it is easy to integrate PagePlanner 3 with other systems, such as advertising systems, photo applications, etc.

"PagePlanner 3 is innovative with respect to functionality and represents something completely new in magazine production. At the same time we have maintained the qualities that have made us the best-selling production system in the Nordic countries", says the company's CEO, Bjørn Jåsund.

From the early start of PagePlanner in 2002, the flatplan has been central to give the visual experience of the program. Experience shows that the flatplan is a very powerful tool to give users a good overview and they can easily navigate through content. With PagePlanner 3, we have developed third generation flatplan including many new features and innovative solutions. It gives the users a new visual dimension to the production as well as being a driving force for effective template based production, which is a key element in PagePlanner 3.

PagePlanner 3 also includes a separate editor, called MediaEditor. With the MediaEditor, you can write directly into the production and get an immediate visual picture of how the article will appear in print, web, smart phone or pad, depending on which template you have chosen. There has been particular emphasis on creating an editor that is easy to use, even when advanced features are chosen. The editor is available through a browser or installed application with support for rich text and metadata fields.

Another important element in PagePlanner 3 is the StoryCentral that gives all users a complete overview of all cases that are in production. In a hectic workflow a good overview is essential. All stories are presented in lists that can be easily customized with the desired information. With just a click the story is presented and all content associated with it. StoryCentral is made up of well-known navigation principles that most people know from modern mail systems; navigation of folders on the left side, a list of items in the middle and a view of the content to the right of the screen.

With PagePlanner 3, there is a new platform that addresses the challenging media future. The system shows exceptional functionality never thought possible in a magazine production system.
