CONTENTSERV CS11.1 Fine-tuning of the Groundbreaking CS11

Rohrbach/Ilm, 28 February 2011: After the innovative major release CS11, the new service release CS 11.1 of the Contentserv Enterprise Marketing Management Solution has arrived. It includes a complete range of important new features and general improvements which facilitate the handling of the system and supplement the major release CS11.

General, system-wide improvements further optimize usability. Standardized shortcuts accelerate list views, multiple selection and navigation through list elements. Multiple selections for file selection dialogs enable complex and recurring inquiries. The new import preview for Excel files make potential mistakes and problems apparent before the import and represent the datasets clearly in a detailed view. In addition the new database cleanup supports quick repair in the case of corrupt systems and database structures.

The PIM Portal is an important addition to the PIM Suite for Product Information Management. The PIM Portal allows direct access to product data and product views more quickly and transparently. The optimized user interface makes the viewing, organizing and managing of product data easy. The intuitive navigation shows the user at first glance the latest status of the product range. Workflow-supported and right-based products and corresponding product information can be changed, examined or given final approval. Each attribute can be defined via its own workflow and hidden, for example, from specific user groups.

New attribute types make it possible to generate additional product information easily. A graphical QR Code (Quick Response Code) can be generated automatically via the attribute type “QR Code” for a product or specific product information in order to pack an address, a link, or an order transaction into a particular action. With the attribute type “Barcode”, a barcode can be outputted from an EAN code as an EPS graphic file, which is reproduced on packaging layouts. The attribute type „Google Map“ enables the graphical output of geographic coordinates in a dynamic map view, whereas the attribute type table facilitates individually configurable table views of product data.

As a product of the BMP Suite (Business Process Management Suite) the user interface of the BMP Translation Manager underwent final optimization. All functions can be reached by means of tabs with only a few clicks. Translations and translation orders are now more clearly sorted according to status and mapped in a tree view.

The EMM Brandkeeper of the EMM Suite (Enterprise Marketing Management Suite) has been completely restructured and provides additional features in its new portal interface for efficient brand management. It makes the image selection and positioning of elements and search requests more user friendly. Furthermore, the insertion of drafts has been improved by means of a set of rules which can be fine-tuned.

The PPM Proof Reader is an important addition to the PPM Suite (Print Production Management Suite). The integrated correction tool takes over the processing and display of InDesign and PDF files in a preview. It is easy to leaf through multi-paged documents and add correction notes. With the proper authorization, InDesign layouts can be opened in the PPM InDesign-Editor and edited directly in the browser. Single image and text frames of a layout file can be checked in or out for editing. This means that several users can edit InDesign files at the same time. The usability of editing options for image and text frames has also been improved. It is now possible to create master pages directly in the InDesign Editor and install PDF options directly by means of the options in the InDesign Editor via browser.

PDF export from InDesign files is now possible directly from the list view without opening it. This is yet another milestone in the optimization of print processes.

As of CS 11.1 font styles can be uploaded simply via the MAM Suite (Media Asset Management Suite) for use via the Adobe® InDesign® Server. The complicated installation steps that are usually performed by the administrator are not necessary.

The new PPM Comet Connector, which is included as a pre-release in CS11.1, enables the direct import of product data from the PIM Studio to the local Adobe® InDesign® application. Product data can be synchronized dynamically with the database and integrated flexibly in the templates.
